Chair's Letter to International students

Chair's Letter to International students

Friday, July 10, 2020

To our wonderful international students:

We want you to know that your departmental faculty stands with you.

We value your important contributions and support your rights to be at SFSU.

And we strongly oppose new federal legislation that threatens those rights.

Here is a link to a statement/petition that explains the new legislation and argues against it.  It was written by Boston University Sociology Professor Heba Gowayed and has been signed by over 30,000 faculty members and graduate assistants across the U.S. who strongly oppose the policy:

For those of you who may be impacted by this new legislation, know that the California State University leadership is vigorously exploring options and will keep you posted with any updates.

We wish you Solidarity!
